Taurus, a leading digital asset infrastructure provider catering to financial giants like Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse, has extended its services to the Stellar blockchain. This expansion includes Taurus' renowned digital asset custody platform, "Taurus-PROTECT," and its issuance and tokenization platform, "Taurus-CAPITAL," now fully operational on Stellar's open-sourced public blockchain as of Monday.

According to Jürgen Hofbauer, Taurus' Head of Global Strategic Partnerships, integrating with Stellar aligns seamlessly with Taurus' strategic growth objectives, particularly due to Stellar's optimization for asset tokenization. This integration empowers both banking and non-banking clients to leverage reduced fees and expedited transactions, optimizing operational efficiency across various tokenization use cases. These include equities, debt instruments, structured products, funds, tokenized deposits, and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).

Taurus currently supports over 20 public and permissioned blockchains through its digital asset custody product. Prior to integrating with Stellar, its tokenization services were accessible on Ethereum and Tezos, underscoring Taurus' commitment to offering robust and versatile blockchain solutions.

The move to integrate with Stellar follows a trend of prominent financial institutions leveraging the blockchain for real-world asset tokenization. Entities like Franklin Templeton, WisdomTree, and Circle have utilized Stellar's capabilities for various financial products and services. For instance, Franklin Templeton introduced the BENJI token to tokenize its U.S. Government Money Fund, demonstrating Stellar's role in facilitating secure and transparent asset management on-chain.

In response to competitive pressures and evolving market dynamics, financial institutions are increasingly turning to blockchain solutions for innovation and efficiency gains. For instance, WisdomTree Prime expanded its service offerings across multiple U.S. states using Ethereum and Stellar blockchains, following regulatory approvals.

Circle, a key player in the stablecoin market, launched its USDC stablecoin on Stellar in 2021, alongside other blockchain platforms. This move highlights Stellar's appeal as a robust infrastructure for stablecoin issuance and financial transactions.

Roberto Durscki, Senior Director at Stellar Development Foundation, emphasized the collaboration with Taurus as pivotal in advancing tokenized asset adoption within regulated financial sectors. This partnership underscores Stellar's commitment to establishing essential infrastructure that supports widespread blockchain adoption and integration within institutional frameworks.

Earlier this year, Taurus received regulatory approval from Switzerland's Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) to offer tokenized securities to retail investors, expanding its service reach beyond institutional clients. This regulatory endorsement positions Taurus at the forefront of compliant and innovative digital asset solutions, fostering broader accessibility and adoption in the evolving financial landscape.
