Telegram Stars enables users to acquire digital assets using Stars, a virtual currency exclusive to the platform. These Stars can be used to buy items such as e-books, online courses, and in-game items, and they are purchasable directly within the app. An important feature is the integration with TON, where users can exchange earned Stars for TON via the Fragment exchange, streamlining the transaction process and adhering to financial regulations imposed by major app stores.

Additionally, Pavel Durov emphasized the financial benefits for developers partnering with Telegram. He noted that while Apple and Google typically charge a 30% fee on in-app purchases, developers can avoid this fee by leveraging Telegram's subsidized advertising program using Stars. This allows developers to promote their apps on Telegram without incurring commission fees, which is more cost-effective than traditional mobile app launches.

Telegram Stars is strategically positioned to capitalize on Telegram's vast user base, where over 90 million people engage with bots and mini-apps. Previously used primarily for purchasing physical goods, these bots and apps can now seamlessly sell digital products thanks to recent updates to the Bot Platform.

In the cryptocurrency realm, Telegram Stars have also influenced market dynamics, particularly with TON experiencing slight fluctuations to $7.33 with a 0.047% decline, while other digital currencies show volatility.
