Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino has warned cryptocurrency owners to be vigilant about suspicious crypto-airdrop-related emails. This alert follows a rumored data breach involving a major email list management provider for crypto companies. Ardoino, addressing his 234,000 online followers, mentioned that the details of the breach are still under investigation.

Though the specifics and the company involved remain undisclosed, Ardoino promised to provide more information once the investigation concludes. This breach has led to an increase in scam emails promising crypto-airdrops.

Additionally, CoinGecko, a popular cryptocurrency tracking site, confirmed the attack. Bobby Ong, CoinGecko's co-founder and COO, suggested that their platform might have been affected by the breach. He advised CoinGecko users to ignore and report fraudulent emails offering new token launches or referencing a fake CoinGecko token.
