This pioneering move marks a significant milestone in the evolution of digital assets, as Tether introduces a novel token directly supported by physical gold stored in Switzerland. The inaugural token in this new line of digital assets is dubbed "Alloy by Tether," with the first token being referred to as aUSDT. Notably, Alloy by Tether is an open platform designed to facilitate the creation of collateralized synthetic digital assets. This innovative platform is slated to become an integral component of Tether's digital assets tokenization platform, scheduled for launch later this year.

Tether has described aUSDT as a cryptocurrency meticulously designed to track the value of one U.S. dollar, while being over-collateralized by Tether Gold (XAUT). This emphasis on collateralization underscores the token's robust backing by actual gold, providing users with the assurance of tangible value. Furthermore, users are empowered to create aUSDT tokens using XAUT as collateral, fostering a seamless and secure experience.

The development of the aUSDT token was made possible through a collaborative effort with Moon Gold NA, S.A. de C.V. and Moon Gold El Salvador, S.A. de C.V., both esteemed members of the Tether Group.
