Introducing ephemeral data blobs through EIP-4844, also known as proto-dank sharding, the Dencun upgrade is crucial for lowering layer-2 transaction fees by introducing a new transaction type called "blob-carrying transactions."

EIP-4844 enables the inclusion of larger data volumes per transaction by introducing unique transactions capable of carrying blobs. This is advantageous for layer 2 scaling solutions like rollups, as they can consolidate multiple transactions into a single, sizable transaction and submit it to the blockchain without delays. COTI V2's Layer 2 is purpose-built to accommodate this enhanced model, enabling users of COTI V2's dApps and network to benefit from its scalability.
