Filecoin recently celebrated 100 days since the launch of its Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) on March 14, 2023. This milestone has seen tremendous growth in developers, storage providers, and other network participants. Filecoin highlighted some key achievements:

- Over 2,500 smart contracts have been deployed on FVM

- 1,210 unique smart contracts are live in the ecosystem

- 91,000 new wallets have been created

- An average of 93,200 FIL tokens are transferred daily over a 14-day period

The launch of FVM has strengthened Filecoin's position as a layer-1 blockchain powering the open data economy, which remains its core focus going forward. It is helping Filecoin work towards its goal of providing a decentralized cloud storage network with over 12M TB capacity at competitive rates.

FVM has enabled the Filecoin community to build services around reputation, lending/borrowing the native FIL token (currently trading around $3.97, up 5.25% weekly), and more. Optimistic price predictions estimate FIL could reach $11.98 by year-end.

Major crypto exchanges have listed support for FVM wallet compatibility, allowing interactions with tools like MetaMask and FVM-based dApps. Filecoin has seen the fastest growth of +140% month-over-month in Total Value Locked (TVL).

This success was bolstered by two FVM-focused hackathons, Space Warp and HackFS, that attracted over 1,700 developers.

Going forward, Filecoin aims to accelerate this growth, prioritizing user/developer experience and enabling smaller storage deals to democratize storage on FVM and Filecoin.
