Montenegro's Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, formerly a crypto entrepreneur, invested $75,000 in Terra Luna just before Terraform Labs' launch in Singapore in April 2018. This made him one of the early investors, receiving 750,000 LUNA tokens at 10 cents each. However, LUNA's value peaked at $199 per token before crashing in 2022, potentially resulting in significant losses exceeding $140 million for Spajić. Despite this, he may have sold some tokens at a profit before the collapse.

This revelation contradicts Spajić's earlier statements where he referred to a company he worked for being defrauded of $75,000, not his personal investment. Terraform Labs, responsible for the UST stablecoin, faced substantial losses amounting to nearly $40 billion in the crypto market crash.

The situation complicates legal matters for Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon in Montenegro, who faces extradition for using a forged passport. Terraform Labs and Kwon agreed to settle with the SEC for $4.47 billion, leading to the company's closure and Kwon's permanent ban from the crypto industry. CEO Chris Amani has called on the community to take ownership of the Terra blockchain amidst the company's bankruptcy and uncertain financial prospects.
