Roaring Kitty, whose real name is Keith Gill, is a financial analyst who gained fame for his stock analysis videos and live streams on X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and Reddit. Gill was born in 1986 and worked at a software company before joining MassMutual.

Gill's rise to fame began in 2014 when he started sharing his stock analysis methods on social media. He predicted that GameStop stocks were undervalued and shared his $53,000 investment in the company, which was met with ridicule from some analysts. However, he doubled down on his prediction, explaining why GameStop was undervalued during the pandemic.

The tide turned in favor of Gill when low interest rates led to investors with more funds and lower consumer spending. Online trades went bullish on end assets, including GameStop, as investors sought to spite larger hedge funds and back the company. This sparked a community around Reddit and YouTube, with GME stocks spiking to $347 per share on January 27, 2021, from $4.56 on January 4

Gill's identity was unraveled by Reuters and other agencies after he named a short-lived company Roaring Kitty. He testified in Congress in February 2021, restating his belief that GameStop stocks were undervalued. A class action lawsuit against him was dismissed.

Gill's exact profits are unclear, but he posted a spreadsheet of his GME stock in April 2021, showing a value of $34 million. After a long silence, Gill made a resurgence on May 12, 2021, posting a video game-playing person, followed by two other posts. This sparked a frenzy in GME and meme coins, with the price of GME moving up 75% as accumulation continued.
