The Sandbox has launched Game Maker 0.10, building on the success of its previous version, Game Maker 0.9, which was released in December last year. The new version offers enhanced tools and improvements and coincides with the start of Builders Bootcamps to educate community members.

Game Maker 0.10 focuses on three areas for improvement: a set of behaviors, new rules, and a streamlined creation process.

First, Game Maker 0.10 introduces new behaviors to enhance the community's experience, such as Spawn Point Behavior and Projectile Behavior. Spawn Point Behavior lets players spawn in different locations, set up teams, and customize equipment. Team Broadcast allows players to send messages to teams across the environment.

Projectile Behavior lets players control aspects like force, trajectory, collider size, and gravity. It allows players to use logic to spawn projectiles and determine their effects upon collision.

Game Maker 0.10 also introduces Raycast Component, Consumables, and Multi & Void features. Consumables allow players to trigger reactions upon consuming items, offering flexibility in choosing trigger points and times. Players can use Consumables to create potions and power-ups.

The new rules in Game Maker 0.10 enable more intelligent design, including the Math Rule, Enhanced HUD Rule, Key Input Rule, On Player Join/Exit Trigger Rule, and Send Message Rule.

Math Rule supports complex math operations with time and number variables, replacing or complementing basic rules like multiplication and addition/subtraction. Enhanced HUD Rules integrate variables as progress bars, values, or percentages, with eye-catching icons.

Key Input Rule allows players to set responses for number keys and mouse buttons, triggering game mechanics like shortcuts and controls. Send Message Rule and On Player Join/Exit Trigger Rule enable players to send messages and trigger events when players enter or leave the experience.

Game Maker 0.10 also includes tools to streamline the creation process, such as the New Hierarchy Panel for improved organization and bug fixes from Game Maker 0.9.

Other new tools and features in Game Maker 0.10 include Exporting and Importing Rules, Grid Enhancements, L2 Support, and New Home Screen Features. Ultimately, Game Maker 0.10 aims to enhance creativity and offers plenty for users to explore.
