However, a recent study published in the Harvard Business Review reveals a concerning trend: the potentially detrimental impact of AI on employees' mental and social well-being.

Researchers discovered that prolonged exposure to AI systems can lead to feelings of isolation, prompting individuals to seek comfort in personal relationships. If these efforts prove unsuccessful, affected employees may resort to maladaptive coping mechanisms, such as excessive alcohol consumption and experiencing insomnia.

This study, comprising four separate investigations and involving 580 participants from diverse backgrounds, highlights the importance of acknowledging the human cost of AI adoption. The findings suggest that organizations, in their zeal to remain competitive and harness the benefits of automation, often overlook the well-being of their most valuable asset: their employees.

As AI increasingly assumes tasks traditionally performed by humans, workers may experience a sense of fragmentation and disconnection.
