Resurgence and Profitability

After a challenging period during the crypto winter, Core Scientific has returned to profitability. The company's Q1 performance was a standout, with $179.3 million in total revenue. This includes $150 million from direct crypto mining and an additional $29.3 million from hosting services.

The company's net income for the quarter reached $210.7 million, bolstered by a $143.8 million gain from the extinguishment of prior obligations. Its adjusted EBITDA came in at a robust $88 million, and it self-mined an impressive 2,825 Bitcoins, worth approximately $173.8 million at current prices.

Relisting and Share Surge

Core Scientific's journey has been a unique one. After facing losses and being delisted from the NASDAQ, the company has now made a comeback, getting relisted this quarter. Following the release of its better-than-expected Q1 report, the company's shares jumped 2.59% in after-hours trading, adding to the 2.56% gain it had on Wednesday.

Investors are particularly encouraged by the company's ability to clear its outstanding mining machines' repayment backlog, a significant milestone in its recovery.
