Today, Thunder Terminal, an on-chain trading platform, experienced a security breach resulting in the unauthorized transfer of 86.5 ETH valued at approximately $192k to Railgun. ZachXBT, who monitors blockchain network activities on his Telegram channel, exposed this cyberattack.

In response to the incident, Thunder Terminal issued a brief statement to address users' concerns about compromised access codes, assuring them that all available funds at the platform's commencement of operations would remain intact and any losses incurred would be promptly compensated.

Further clarification from Thunder Terminal revealed that the breach affected a small number of users, specifically 114 wallets out of over 14,000. The platform emphasized that funds were now secure and detailed the swift measures taken to thwart the attack within nine minutes of its occurrence.

ZachXBT highlighted a message allegedly from the attacker, contradicting Thunder Terminal's statements and accusing the platform of spreading misinformation. The message claimed the attacker had obtained user data and demanded 50 ETH in exchange.

Thunder Terminal explained that the breach stemmed from withdrawal requests processed as legitimate transactions due to leaked session tokens, resulting in losses of approximately 86.5 ETH and 439 SOL, totaling around US$47,800.

Following the incident, Thunder Terminal announced plans to refund affected users, along with a 0% fee offer and $100,000 in credits. Despite inquiries from The Block, a prominent source in the crypto industry, Thunder Terminal has yet to provide further comments or updates.
