Today, the on-chain trading platform Thunder Terminal experienced a hack, resulting in the unauthorized transfer of 86.5 ETH, valued at approximately $192,000, to Railgun. ZachXBT exposed this cyberattack on his Telegram channel, known for monitoring activities on blockchain networks.

Following the attack, Thunder Terminal issued a brief statement to reassure users about the security of their confidential access codes. The company affirmed its commitment to ensuring that all funds remain intact at the start of operations and assured users that any losses incurred would be promptly recovered through compensation.

Providing further details, Thunder Terminal clarified that the exploit affected only a small fraction of users, specifically 114 wallets out of over 14,000. The platform emphasized that the funds were now secure and outlined how they swiftly mitigated the attack within nine minutes of its occurrence.

However, ZachXBT highlighted a note purportedly from the attacker, contradicting Thunder Terminal's statements and accusing them of spreading falsehoods. The message, allegedly sent from the attacker's address, claimed to have obtained user data in exchange for 50 ETH.

Thunder Terminal explained that the breach occurred due to withdrawal requests processed as legitimate transactions following the leakage of session tokens. The platform confirmed losses of approximately 86.5 ETH and 439 SOL, totaling around $47,800.

In response to the incident, Thunder Terminal has pledged to refund all affected users and offer a 0% fee promotion along with $100,000 in credits. Despite inquiries from The Block, a leading source of crypto industry news, Thunder Terminal has not yet provided any comments or updates.
