Today, the on-chain trading platform Thunder Terminal experienced a hack, resulting in an unauthorized transfer of 86.5 ETH valued at approximately $192k to Railgun. ZachXBT disclosed this cyberattack on his Telegram channel, dedicated to monitoring activities on blockchain networks.

In response to the attack, Thunder Terminal issued a brief statement to reassure users regarding the security of their confidential access codes. The company assured users that all cash on hand would remain intact at the start of operations and any losses incurred would be promptly recovered through compensation.

Further clarification from Thunder Terminal revealed that the exploit affected only a small percentage of users, specifically 114 wallets out of over 14,000. The platform emphasized that funds were now secure and detailed the swift measures taken to thwart the attack within nine minutes of its initiation.

Contradicting Thunder Terminal's statements, ZachXBT highlighted a note purportedly from the attacker, accusing the platform of spreading falsehoods. The message, allegedly from the attacker's address, claimed to have obtained user data and demanded 50 ETH in exchange.

Thunder Terminal explained the breach in detail, attributing it to withdrawal requests processed as legitimate transactions due to leaked session tokens. The platform confirmed losses of approximately 86.5 ETH and 439 SOL, totaling around US$47,800.

Following the incident, Thunder Terminal expressed its commitment to refunding all affected users. In addition to compensation, affected users will receive a 0% fee offer and $100,000 in credits. Despite inquiries from The Block, a leading source of news in the crypto industry, Thunder Terminal has not yet provided further comments or updates.
