Former US President Donald Trump has turned his focus to Bitcoin miners as part of his efforts to embrace the cryptocurrency industry. In a June 12 post on Truth Social, Trump voiced his backing for Bitcoin mining, emphasizing its potential to strengthen American energy dominance. He pledged to support these technologies, especially if re-elected as US president, stating:

"Bitcoin mining could be our final defense against a CBDC. Biden's hostility towards Bitcoin only benefits China, Russia, and the Radical Communist Left. We want all remaining Bitcoin to be MADE IN THE USA!!! It will help us achieve ENERGY DOMINANCE!!!"

This statement followed a recent meeting on June 11 with several prominent US Bitcoin miners, including representatives from CleanSpark, Riot Blockchain, and Marathon Digital.

Matthew Schultz, Executive Chairman of CleanSpark, praised Trump for his understanding of the sector. Brian Morgenstein, head of policy at Riot Blockchain, reportedly commented:

"President Trump will defend your right to own Bitcoin, mine Bitcoin, transact with Bitcoin, and for many of us, work in the Bitcoin industry."

David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, described the meeting as "a pivotal moment in our journey towards hyperbitcoinization," adding:

"The former and future President of the United States gathered America's computing power and committed to championing our cause in DC and globally. Bitcoin will THRIVE in the US."

These developments come as crypto miners face increased scrutiny over environmental impact and strain on local power grids. Earlier this year, US authorities encountered resistance from industry stakeholders when seeking data on crypto miners' energy usage. Trump's support could shape political views on cryptocurrency operations.

Moreover, Trump's backing of cryptocurrencies appears to be enhancing his electoral prospects. On Polymarket, a major crypto-based prediction platform, Trump holds a 56% chance of winning, while Joe Biden's chances have fallen to 35%.
