Former U.S. President Donald Trump plans to release a fourth NFT collection after the success of his previous three, which quickly sold out in a day.

In a Tuesday’s Bloomberg Businessweek interview, Trump said people are asking for a fourth one, citing their “unbelievable spirit.”

Trump Warns China Could Dominate Crypto Market

Trump hinted at a fourth collection in May at a Mar-a-Lago gala honouring the holders of his mugshot NFT, but he made no firm announcements. Given the success of the previous collections, he declared that he believed in the law of supply and demand.

However, he noted that market conditions could change. Trump launched his first NFTs in December 2022 after releasing the “Trump digital trading cards.” These sold out quickly and raised about 648 Ethereum (ETH), worth about $785,000 then. In the interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, Trump also discussed his evolving views on crypto. He added that he has able to meet with many significant people from the crypto business at his fundraisers, referring to them as “top-flight people.”

Despite his initial misgivings about cryptocurrencies, Trump has come around to the sector, despite his fears about global competition—especially from China. If the United States didn't lead, he threatened, China would rule the region. He also observed a change in traditional banking officials’ perspectives on cryptocurrencies.

The former US president made note of the fact that JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, who was formerly quite pessimistic about cryptocurrencies, has since changed his position. This occurs only a few months after Dimon, during a Senate Banking Committee hearing in December 2023, made strong remarks about cryptocurrencies and said, “If I were the government, I’d shut it down.” Dimon received backlash from the crypto community for these remarks.

Major Crypto Players Rally Behind Trump

The crypto industry’s top players, such as Kraken co-founder Jesse Powell and Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, have supported Trump’s campaign. They have donated hefty sums to Trump’s reelection campaign and related super PACs, including the new Trump-focused America PAC and pro-crypto Fairshake.

In May, Trump’s campaign started accepting crypto donations. A Wall Street Journal report citing new data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) revealed that about $3 million of the roughly $331 million raised by Trump’s campaign last quarter was in crypto.

Yesterday, Trump also announced pro-Bitcoin senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate. Vance has been actively involved in pro-crypto legislation, pushing for their wide use.
