Trust Wallet, a leading self-custody provider, has joined forces with Mercuryo, a payments infrastructure firm, to facilitate crypto off-ramps for more than 30 digital assets.

While cryptocurrencies offer the ability to store value within decentralized networks, real-world transactions often necessitate fiat currencies for settlement in various countries and jurisdictions. Recognizing this need, Trust Wallet and Mercuryo have collaborated to empower users to convert their digital coins into traditional currencies, a process known as "off-ramping."

Petr Kozyakov, the co-founder and CEO of Mercuryo, highlighted the significance of providing users with seamless off-ramp services, emphasizing that it is crucial alongside securely storing digital assets.

Through this partnership, Trust Wallet users can now convert over 30 virtual currencies into euros and U.S. dollars. This service is accessible in more than 135 countries worldwide, offering a convenient solution for users seeking to bridge the gap between the crypto and fiat worlds.

The collaboration between Trust Wallet and Mercuryo reflects a broader trend within the web3 ecosystem, aiming to support mass adoption and expand the use cases of digital assets. This initiative is particularly significant in Europe, where the forthcoming Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA) is poised to shape the regulatory landscape for cryptocurrencies.

In recent months, various service providers, including Strike, Tether, Robinhood, and Kraken, have extended their offerings into Europe, reflecting the region's growing importance in the global cryptocurrency market. Additionally, Europe boasts a thriving ecosystem of virtual currency banking services, with over 63 institutions providing digital asset rails, according to crypto.news.
