Blania, CEO of Tools of Humanity and leader of the Worldcoin project, held discussions with a representative from Malaysia's Digital Ministry. Additionally, the Digital Economy Corporation of Malaysia met with Nordstar officials and associated companies, including Worldcoin. Recently, Blania and Altman held a video call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

These interactions follow the company's efforts to address concerns regarding data collection and privacy issues, emphasizing compliance with Malaysian regulations. Worldcoin's distinguishing feature is its ability to differentiate between human and AI-driven entities.

In March, the company faced bans in Spain and Portugal for collecting personal data without consent, as Worldcoin provides cryptocurrency in exchange for users' iris scans to create their world ID, sparking controversy. This drew attention from countries like Germany, France, Argentina, and South Korea due to Altman's involvement and his reputation from leading OpenAI. Despite public surprise at government interest in Worldcoin, officials remain committed.

Earlier in 2024, Tools for Humanity appointed Trevor Traina, former US Ambassador to Austria, as head of international affairs to strengthen government relations. Traina emphasizes the government's thorough scrutiny of the matter.

Worldcoin recently introduced Personal Custody, limiting new WorldID sign-ups to encrypted biometric data collection. Users can now opt for data deletion, with age verification becoming a priority.
