Uniswap, the leading decentralized exchange operating on the Ethereum network, has exceeded $2 trillion in cryptocurrency transactions since its inception in 2018, as reported by The Block.

Announcing the achievement on social media platform X, Uniswap Labs revealed that the cumulative trading volume processed through its protocol had crossed the momentous $2 trillion mark. Uniswap has consistently ranked as one of the most utilized decentralized finance (DeFi) applications on the Ethereum blockchain, solidifying its position as the foremost decentralized exchange (DEX) in terms of trading volume.

Uniswap Labs also shared a link to a Dune Dashboard that tracks the protocol's historical trading volume. According to the dashboard, Uniswap's trading volume in the past 24 hours alone neared $2.9 billion.

In stark contrast to profit-centric centralized exchanges such as Coinbase, Kraken, and Binance, Uniswap stands out as a decentralized exchange with an open-source protocol. While centralized exchanges like Coinbase and Binance currently handle trading volumes that surpass Uniswap, as indicated by The Block Data Dashboard.

In a recent development, the Uniswap Foundation, dedicated to advancing the utility of the Uniswap protocol, introduced governance modifications that entail enhancing the fee structure to incentivize users who delegate and stake their UNI tokens on the platform.
