QANplatform has taken a groundbreaking step by introducing the world's first quantum-resistant blockchain test network, compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This innovative network enables developers to create smart contracts using any programming language, marking a significant milestone in quantum-resistant cybersecurity.

The launch of this test network addresses the pressing concern of post-quantum security, which has become increasingly urgent since the release of IBM Condor, the second-largest quantum processor, in December 2023. QANplatform co-founder and CTO Johann Polecsak emphasized that most blockchain networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, cannot adopt quantum-resistant security measures without significant negative impacts. However, this new test network allows for testing transition processes to a quantum-resistant alternative for EVM-compatible protocols without risking user funds on the main network.

Governments and major companies are already preparing for the post-quantum era. The European Commission launched the Quantum Flagship research initiative in 2018 with a budget of at least 1 billion euros over a 10-year period. Apple has also taken a lead in quantum messaging by announcing an update to make iMessages quantum-resistant. QANplatform's quantum-resistant technology has already been adopted by the first European country, providing protection against quantum computing attacks aimed at government cybersecurity infrastructure. As Polecsak noted, quantum-resistant technology is crucial today due to the 'store now, decrypt later' cybersecurity threat, which involves attackers collecting encrypted data to decrypt later using more powerful computing methods like quantum computers.
