US Bitcoin ETFs report $140 Million in outflows as withdrawal persists

Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the U.S. recorded their fifth consecutive day of net outflows, with a total of $139.88 million withdrawn from the funds on Thursday.

Among the notable outflows, Grayscale's GBTC led with a daily net outflow of $53 million, followed by Fidelity's FBTC at $51 million, according to data from SoSoValue. Bitwise's BITB experienced net outflows of $32 million, while VanEck's ETF saw $4 million exiting. Invesco and Galaxy Digital's fund also saw $2 million in net outflows.

The sole net inflows were seen in BlackRock's IBIT, the largest spot bitcoin ETF by net asset value, which gained $1 million in net inflows and had a daily trade volume of $565 million on Thursday. The other funds, including Ark Invest, Valkyrie, Franklin Templeton, WisdomTree, and Hashdex, did not report any inflows.

On Thursday, the total trading volume for the ETFs reached $1.16 billion, a decrease from Tuesday's volume of $1.7 billion. Since their launch in January, the 11 spot bitcoin funds have collectively witnessed a total net inflow of $14.67 billion by Thursday, with the market closed on Wednesday for a public holiday.

The price of bitcoin dropped by 3% in the last 24 hours to $64,471 at the time of writing, as reported by CoinMarketCap.

In the U.S., ETF issuers are gearing up to introduce the first spot ether funds, following feedback from the Securities and Exchange Commission on S-1 forms for ether ETFs last week. Issuers are currently revising the forms and are expected to resubmit them by Friday.
