The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission is investigating trading firm Jump regarding its involvement in cryptocurrency, according to reporting from Fortune.

The derivatives regulator is specifically looking into the firm's trading and investing activities, Fortune reported on Thursday.

Jump has been a crypto trader for years and has launched a business focused on exploring and researching blockchain technology.

In recent years, the CFTC and the SEC have pursued charges against cryptocurrency entities. Both agencies have taken enforcement actions against companies like Binance and FTX in the past year.

The SEC accused Jump Trading of assisting Terraform Labs in supporting the TerraUSD stablecoin during its depegging from the dollar in 2021. However, no charges were filed against Jump by the SEC in this case.
