Wicrypt, a Nigerian blockchain startup, has been granted $150,000 by Microsoft, aimed at furthering the expansion of their vision and enhancing productivity.

On December 9, 2023, the startup announced this development via their X account, stating:

"We received a $150,000 grant from Microsoft. This grant will go a long way in expanding collaboration and improving productivity around our #DePIN development chain.

This substantial fund comes after the platform raised a staggering $1.5 million in 2021.

Wicrypt, founded in 2018, is a decentralized blockchain project enabling users to earn by sharing their WIFI. It offers users more affordable internet data while rewarding them with WNT (Wicrypt token) for sharing WIFI.

Wicrypt users have the opportunity to mine these tokens at their own pace and resell data at their preferred prices.

This financial boost propels Wicrypt closer to realizing their mission of establishing a global internet access model based on free user-to-user relationships. This approach envisions everyone acting as both provider and customer, thereby reducing mobile data costs not only in Nigeria but globally.
