🤔 Is Polygon about to launch a memecoin with a $5B market cap?
Is it introducing new technology to reduce gas fees and increase transactions per second (TPS)🤔 ?
Is there something big on the horizon that we don't know yet🤔 ?

Let’s look at the latest developments with Polygon.

1) Polygon is planning to transition from its current token, MATIC, to a new token called POL. This upgrade is scheduled to go live on September 4th. MATIC holders will be able to swap their tokens for POL, which will enable better cross-chain interactions and shared liquidity.

It seems Polygon has a lot in store. As they’ve hinted, "Things are cooking on Polygon." We can only hope that what’s being prepared will be delicious, not burnt.

2) 100M POL/Year Grant Allocation

Polygon has committed 1 billion POL to support projects and initiatives in the community over a 10-year period. The first grant program of the year went live in June, with applications closing on August 15th.

3) Projects are actively building and expanding on Polygon. Recent data from Dune Analytics showed 1.5 million active wallets on Polygon. Despite talks of a "decline," Polygon has consistently held its ground. They’re making a strong comeback and have urged us not to "fade the OG chain."

Will Polygon Hit 2.2 million followers by the end of August?

Probably not.

To clarify, the ".2" in 2.2 million stands for 200,000.
So, can Polygon gain 200,000 X followers by the end of August?
Highly unlikely. Maybe by year-end, but even that seems ambitious.

The crypto market is down, and aside from memecoins, there’s little to excite traders enough to hit the follow button on an X profile. Unless, of course, Polygon is about to launch a new memecoin.
