Over the years, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) have emerged as the leading cryptocurrencies globally. BTC, often dubbed digital gold, is prized as a store of value with a limited supply capped at 21 million coins. ETH, on the other hand, powers the most extensive smart contract platform, Ethereum, adding to its appeal among crypto investors. BTC's acceptance continues to strengthen. As the pioneer cryptocurrency, it benefits from unparalleled brand recognition, trust, adoption, and liquidity, making it the top crypto asset by market capitalization. According to Coinmarketcap, BTC has a market cap exceeding $1.2 trillion with more than 50 million holders.

Institutional interest in BTC has also surged recently. Notably, in January 2024, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved 11 spot bitcoin ETFs, allowing them to be traded on stock exchanges. This approval, among other positive developments, has spurred significant investment into BTC, with assets under management for spot bitcoin ETFs topping $55 billion and the cryptocurrency reaching new price highs. In March 2024, MicroStrategy invested an impressive $1,444.7 million in BTC, holding 214,246 BTC to date.

BTC's price reached a record above $73,000 per coin on March 14, driven by anticipation of the fourth bitcoin halving event scheduled for April 2024. This event is widely expected by crypto experts to push BTC's price beyond $100,000 later in the year.
