ZetaChain, a layer 1 blockchain and interoperability platform, has announced the launch of a comprehensive ecosystem growth program. This initiative aims to bolster and accelerate the development of projects operating within the ZetaChain ecosystem.

ZetaChain, an omnichain blockchain that employs the principle of chain abstraction to function as the foundational layer of the decentralized internet, has allocated a significant portion of its token supply to support promising and impactful projects built on its platform.

As part of this program, ZetaChain has reserved 5% of the total ZETA token supply for the most promising and innovative projects developed on the ZetaChain blockchain. Notably, within this allocation, 1% of the supply, equivalent to 21 million ZETA tokens, will be specifically designated for projects focusing on Bitcoin integration.

This distribution marks the initial phase of the 12% allocation of the total ZETA token supply designated for the Ecosystem Growth Fund, as outlined in the project's ZETA Token Distribution plan. The tokens will be gradually distributed over the next three to four years.

In addition to the token allocation, ZetaChain's ecosystem program will extend assistance in the form of grants, incentives, and community initiatives to aid in the creation of products, services, and solutions that leverage the capabilities offered by ZetaChain's integration with Bitcoin.

The newly introduced growth initiative for Bitcoin projects will concentrate on three key areas: Bitcoin infrastructure, Bitcoin decentralized finance (DeFi), and Bitcoin games and social networking.

The Bitcoin infrastructure focus aims to improve the underlying infrastructure for BTC-related applications through OP_RETURN support for BTC wallets, infrastructure to facilitate BTC restaking, APIs, user interfaces (UIs), and cross-chain transaction indexers.

In the realm of Bitcoin DeFi, ZetaChain aims to nurture a comprehensive range of BTC-centric offerings, including lending and borrowing platforms, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), perpetual contract aggregators, money markets, and collateralized debt position (CDP) solutions.

Furthermore, the program will concentrate on integrating Bitcoin into gaming and social networking platforms, enabling players to earn native BTC as rewards in games and fostering the development of BTC-centric social networks supported by gas grants.

The ecosystem growth program also focuses on supporting DeFi protocols building on ZetaChain, offering incentives such as liquidity provision and trading incentives aimed at encouraging education, efficiency, and increased application usage overall.

As the decentralized finance and blockchain ecosystems continue to evolve, initiatives like ZetaChain's Ecosystem Growth Program play a crucial role in driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and facilitating the integration of emerging technologies like Bitcoin into the decentralized web.
