ZKsync has announced a significant gesture towards its community members by initiating an unrestricted airdrop of 17.5% of its total token supply, amounting to 3,675,000,000 tokens, starting June 17th. This generous distribution is a token of appreciation, with the remaining 82.5% of tokens to be gradually distributed through ecosystem developments.

ZKsync operates as a layer-2 scaling solution on Ethereum, utilizing zero-knowledge proof rollups to enhance transaction speed and alleviate network congestion, maintaining Ethereum's robust security features.

To qualify for the ZKAS Token Airdrop, users must engage in transactions meeting specific activity thresholds on the ZKsync network. Additionally, contributions to the ZKsync ecosystem through development, advocacy, or education will also be rewarded with a portion of the airdrop tokens, irrespective of transactional activity.

The distribution strategy includes safeguards against abuse, employing fair use activity thresholds, allocation formulas, multipliers, and Sybil detection mechanisms. Furthermore, a maximum limit of 100,000 coins per wallet ensures equitable distribution, preventing concentration of tokens among large holders.

The remaining tokens from the total supply of 21 million will be allocated to investors (17.2%) and the Matter Labs team (16.1%), with a one-year lockup period. This distribution structure aims to align incentives and ensure long-term commitment to the ZKsync protocol's development.
